Rui Matoso is a cultural manager, consultant, editor, researcher and programmer. He teaches an MA course in Cultural Management and Programming at the Lusophone University of Humanities Technologies, Lisbon, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Political Art and Tactical Media. Rui holds an MA in Cultural Practices for Cities from New University of Lisbon (2008) and a postgraduate degree in Cultural Management from the Lusophone University of Humanities Technologies, Lisbon (2005-2006).
His main research field is local cultural policies, especially Agenda 21 for Culture. In cooperation with Gulbenkian he coordinates the project: Promotion Agenda 21 for Culture in Portugal (http://www.agenda21culture.net/). Rui is also a consultant and trainer in cultural management, particularly in the areas of sponsorship, patronage, culture and sustainable development, as well as director, editor, manager, curator or producer of different cultural and arts projects.
